Poking Dead Things

How would you describe your business?

Wearable art and home decor made with ethically sourced, cruelty free materials. It’s a constant search for dead, decaying and rotting things in the woods and on the side of the road.  The found gooey bits get gathered up and taken to our facilities where our helpers; Steve, Steven, Sven and Stephanie (Hundreds of Dermestid beetles that are all named versions of Steve) take care of the first part in the long process of cleaning.   All bones are painstakingly cleaned, sterilized and sealed before becoming wearable art.  We want to share the amazing structures made by nature, just embellished a bit by us!

It’s not just dead animals and insects that we work with.  Plants, crystals and minerals are also a key ingredient in our art.  Appreciate nature in all its forms and keep it with you always.

What inspired you to start this business?Skeleton keys

This is more of a hobby/obsession/stress reliever for me than a business.  I enjoy creating art out of things from nature that would otherwise be discarded or forgotten about.  Sharing the things I’m passionate about with others is what lead me into art shows and vending.  I’ve always been a child of nature and if I’m not dirty, I’m not having a good time! Be curious, poke dead things!
