Everyone hold on tight! We are starting Eclipse season. It is going to be a little turbulent the next couple weeks. I like to describe it like a hurricane. We have so much planetary action this week, it is like the initial impact. Then next week we reach the eye of the storm. The following week we hit the other side with the next eclipse. There is no need to be stressed or worried because we got this!
This week we start off with Saturn going retrograde. It actually happened on this past Saturday, but we are just getting into the energy. It plays as an important role this week. Saturn is the “father” figure of the planet’s and is associated with Kronos. Saturn is the planet of restrictions, rules and boundaries. Kind of like an over protective father. Saturn teaches us lessons and helps guide us along our paths. We may not know the lesson being taught at the time, but can look back and see it.
While Saturn is in retrograde we may feel more restrictions. If you keep hitting road blocks, this is what is causing it. But know that there is a reason you keep hitting these blocks. It because you are being guided and shown the path to take. For example if you are constantly driving the same way home from work and encounter a road block you have to take a different route. You are being shown to slow down and enjoy what else is out there. Also, you may have your patience being tested. These are both life lessons that Saturn likes to teach us. Saturn is going to be in retrograde until October and be a background energy we are going to be feeling. Since it just start a few days ago, we are feeling the effects a little stronger right now.
Our next big planetary player this week is the Total Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius. This will be happening on Wednesday and will be visible in the western United States. A Total Lunar Eclipse happens when the Sun and Moon come to opposite points on the ecliptic where the light from the Sun will not reach the Moon because it is behind the Earth. Eclipse are a normal occurrence and happen two- three times a year.
With Eclipses the energy last up to six months! The Lunar Eclipse is a time where we can let go and release what is holding us back. Being in the sign of Sagittarius, it is showing us that it is time to let go of anything that is not our authentic truth selves. Any baggage you are holding on to physically, mentally, spiritually or emotionally you can work towards releasing. These kinds of releases don’t happen over night. It takes time. Once we do make space, new and exciting things will start to come in.
During this Eclipse, we could be ending one adventure and starting a new one. One that will push you to explore and expand your mind. Take this time to explore new interests and study something new. If you have been interested in something, why not try it out!
Lastly, we finish this week off with Mercury going retrograde in Gemini on Saturday. Mercury is at home in the sign of Gemini. Mercury rules over communication, commerce and traveling. When Mercury is in retrograde we need to be careful with what we say. Slow down and think about what you want to say before you say it. You want to make sure that your message is clear. It is also important to double check any appointments you have scheduled. There is a potential that there might be a mix up in the date and time. Lastly, please slow down while you are driving. With Mercury retrograde in Gemini, we want to make sure we are traveling safely. If you have a vacation planned during this time, there is no need to worry. Just know that there could be little changes that occur.
Overall, this week we have a lot of different energies working together. The most important take away is to make sure that you are slowing down a little bit. Also, give yourself space to let things go. Everything comes with time. Stop to smell the roses and let your mind explore.
